Stages and Deadlines of the Review Process
The process of reviewing and accepting a work for publication in the journal comprises the following stages and deadlines:
- Confirmation of Receipt of the Abstract
The editorial office sends the author technical confirmation of receipt of the abstract no later than 14 (fourteen) calendar days from submission of the abstract.
- Deadline for Uploading the Final Work
Following confirmation of receipt of the abstract, the author is given no more than 4 (four) weeks to prepare and upload the final full text.
- Deadline for the Selection and Review of the Article
The selection of the work is carried out on the principle of double-blind peer review. The editorial board first decides which subject-area section or reviewer the work will be assigned to for consideration.
Total deadline (maximum): 10 (ten) weeks — from the registration of the final text.
– Double-blind peer review (by two independent reviewers) — no more than 6 (six) weeks;
– Author's revision (if the work has been conditionally accepted, in order to address the reviewer's comments) — an additional no more than 2 (two) weeks;
– Involvement of a third reviewer and author's revision (if the reviewers' opinions substantially disagree with one another and further revision by the author is also required) — an additional no more than 4 (four) weeks.
- Sending Confirmation of the Final Decision on the Article
Following completion of the review process (and, where necessary, the involvement of a third reviewer or the author's revision), the editorial office sends the author the final decision (acceptance or rejection) no later than 2 (two) weeks thereafter.
