Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the fastest-developing fields in modern medicine, playing a significant role in the diagnosis and treatment of maxillofacial diseases. Its application is especially relevant in dentistry and maxillofacial surgery, where accurate diagnosis and individualized treatment planning are critically important.
AI algorithms make it possible to analyze large volumes of clinical and radiological data quickly and efficiently. For example, by processing computed tomography (CT) scans and radiographic images, pathological changes such as cysts, tumors, bone deformities, and inflammatory processes can be detected at an early stage. This reduces the likelihood of human error and increases diagnostic accuracy.
In addition, artificial intelligence is also used in the treatment planning process. Through 3D modeling and predictive systems, it is possible to simulate surgical procedures in advance, helping surgeons choose the most optimal strategy. AI also contributes to the individualization of orthodontic treatment by taking into account the anatomical characteristics of each patient.
The integration of AI into the treatment process also improves the monitoring of outcomes. Continuous analysis of patient data makes it possible to identify complications in a timely manner and, when necessary, adjust the treatment plan.
Despite its many advantages, the use of artificial intelligence is accompanied by certain challenges, such as data confidentiality, ethical issues, and the availability of technological resources. Therefore, its proper integration into clinical practice is essential.
Ultimately, artificial intelligence significantly improves the quality of diagnosis and treatment of maxillofacial diseases, reduces risks, and increases patient satisfaction, making it an even more important tool in the future.
